How This CFO Sold LoveFilm to Amazon
Jim Buckle reflects on selling LoveFilm to Amazon, scaling Gousto through rapid growth and building a CFO career around calculated risk rather than a fixed plan.
About Jim Buckle and his CFO career
Jim Buckle has built a 25-year CFO career across KPMG, the BBC, Dell, Property Finder, Wiggle, LoveFilm and Gousto. His route has included a start-up that failed within six months, a sale process that initially fell through and the eventual sale of LoveFilm to Amazon.
He later helped scale Gousto from under £100 million to more than £300 million in two years during Covid. Jim now leads finance for a £300 million consumer business on a four-day week, bringing first-hand experience of private equity, venture capital, hypergrowth, forecasting and exit readiness.
